What to Expect from an OIST Research Internship for Students

Positions for research interns are given out twice a year on a competitive basis. The desired research's suitability, academic background, available funding, and space are all taken into consideration throughout the very competitive selection process. Not every open position will inevitably be filled.

OIST Japan internship 2023 |Eligibility Requirements

Application requirements for the OIST Research Internship for International Students include the following:

• Excellent students who have graduated from or are enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs at universities, colleges, junior colleges, or vocational schools in Japan or abroad.
• Students who are currently enrolled require permission from their home university.
• The applicants' academic backgrounds should be appropriate for the OIST host unit(s) they choose.

How To Apply for OIST Japan Internship Program 2023-24 

Application Methods: The following procedures must be taken in order for applications to the OIST Research internship program to be considered:

• The online form must be used to apply for the program.
• Only after at least one recommendation letter has been received in the application system may you submit your application.
• Your application will automatically notify you when it has been received. (Please verify that you can receive emails from the at oist.jp domain by checking your settings.
• Applications will be reviewed and a final selection made after the application time.
• Three months after the application deadline, the announcement of the results will be released on your application platform. A notification will be sent to you when the outcome is posted. • All relevant arrangements will be made in conjunction with the interns after final confirmation of internship offers. Your assistance is vital for the prompt completion of the logistics for the internship to start, including possible visa preparations and other essential Japanese government paperwork.
