Scholarships will be awarded to students who:

- Citizens of Canada, permanent residents, or students on a study permit
- Admission to or transfer from a master's to a doctoral degree program by the department
- Will be enrolled full-time in a doctoral degree program or thesis-based master's degree program
- A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required for admission
