Monash University Scholarship 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for a Monash University Scholarship:

  • English is a required language.
  • General IELTS requirements: (6.5) overall (no band less than 6.0) in IELTS, and (79 +) in TOEFL. In the TOEFL, reading is rated 13, listening is rated 12, speaking is rated 18, and writing is rated 21.
  • For Arts, Business, and Economics, IELTS scores of (7) overall (no band less than 6.5) and (94+) are required. TOEFL scores are 19 for reading, 20 for listening, 20 for speaking, and 24 for writing.

  • A pupil from another country.
  • A citizen of New Zealand.
  • A citizen of Australia.
  • Permanent resident of Australia.
  • Humanitarian visa holder from Australia.

A bachelor's degree in a relevant topic that requires at least four years of full-time study and usually includes a research component in the fourth year, leading to an honours 1 or 2A in that discipline;

A course leading to a level deemed equivalent to an honours 1 or 2A in a relevant discipline by the relevant department, faculty, and committee;

A master's degree that requires work, usually with a strong research component, and at least 25% of one full-time equivalent year of work, including a thesis. A grade of honours 2A is usually expected for the research thesis or project. Examiners' reports will be considered if the assignment is ungraded.

Possess qualifications that, in the view of others,

Scholarships are given out depending on a student's academic record, research output, and previous research experience.

Have not previously held a Postgraduate Research Award funded by the Australian Government or Monash University for more than six months.
